Distinct Industries, established in 2008, is a creative firm specializing in web design, print design and branding. We are located in Youngstown, Ohio– right in the middle of Cleveland and Pittsburgh.
We started out making flyers and other artwork mostly for skateboard companies and bands. Today, we work with businesses of all sizes– mom & pop to international corporations.
As founder of Distinct Industries, it is my goal is to ensure all of my clients receive service of the highest caliber. I make certain that the highest principles are maintained for all projects, from a straightforward business card design to an intricate ecommerce website.
Prior to establishing Distinct Industries, I spent over three years working for The Department of Campus Recreation & Student Programming at Youngstown State University. I started at YSU as a graphic & web designer and quickly worked my way up to being an important member of the department. Some of my regular duties aside from designing and maintaining websites included establishing and updating social media outlets and designing innovating marketing materials.
In 2008, I created Distinct Industries. Today, I have transformed my side business into a respectable, award-winning Northeast Ohio firm and work with businesses of all sizes. I have won numerous awards for my work, including the 2012 GDUSA American Web Design Award.

Although each project we work on is unique, we have adapted a four stage process we use as a guideline that has proven to work great. Throughout all four stages, we work closely will with our clients.
After we are initially contacted, we ask all of our potential clients to fill out a simple questionnaire. We want to learn all about your company, competition, and goals. Also during this stage, we will prepare a proposal, project timeline, and contract.
Once both parties come to an agreement, the design process begins. Depending on what the project is, this is the stage concepts, mockups and rough drafts are created. We will be in regular communication either by email or Basecamp; whichever you prefer.
As soon as concepts have been finalized and we are given the OK to move forward, we start working on the hard stuff. This is the stage where we begin any coding, complete designs and other intensive tasks to create the final, commercial ready product.
After the project is carefully reviewed to make sure it is as flawless as possible – and all parties are happy – the project is considered complete. Upon payment in full, source files will be released to the client. We will be happy to provide any further assistance we can.
